Direct Support Professional Positions Are Now Being Filled at New Horizons in Autism

A virtual recruitment event is being hosted by New Horizons in Autism. Direct Support Professional (DSP) positions are now being filled. Openings are available across residential and day programs. Both Monmouth and Ocean Counties are included in the search.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm via Microsoft Teams.

About New Horizons in Autism

New Horizons in Autism Inc. was established over 40 years ago. Since then, a wide range of community-based programs has been developed. Adults with autism and their families are served across New Jersey. Additionally, advocacy and independent living support are provided.

The organization operates under a non-profit model. Consequently, its programs are built around community need. Fulfilling, independent lives are the goal for every individual served.

What a Direct Support Professional Does

A Direct Support Professional works closely with adults who have autism. Day and residential programs are supported through this role. Skill-building activities are guided by DSPs on a regular basis. Meaningful relationships are formed between staff and the individuals they serve.

Furthermore, advocacy is carried out on behalf of program participants. Each shift brings a different set of tasks and interactions. As a result, no two days look exactly the same in this line of work.

Pay, Benefits, and Growth Opportunities

A competitive rate of $19.00 per hour is offered for this position. A benefits package is included alongside the hourly pay. Paid training is also provided to all new hires. In addition, opportunities for advancement are made available over time.

Applicant Requirements

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Must be 20 years of age or older
  • A High School Diploma or GED must be held
  • A valid New Jersey Driver’s License is required
  • Strong communication skills must be demonstrated
  • Background checks, DMV screening, and drug screening must be passed
