New Jersey Department of Labor (DOL) Employment Services (ES)

The NJDOL One-Stop and the Ocean County Career Center work together to deliver a seamless, customer-focused service network that improves access to employment programs and supports long-term career success for job seekers. NJ DOL Employment Services focuses on job search assistance and employment support for special populations, including reentry individuals, disabled veterans, Work First New Jersey (WFNJ) participants, Workforce 55+, dislocated workers, and business services customers.

Customers interested in training programs for in-demand occupations that lead to industry-recognized credentials are referred to the Ocean County Career Center Career, while those seeking job search support are directed to Employment Services, where staff provide personalized assistance to help them navigate the job market. Ocean County Achievement Center

Located at the Ocean County Achievement Center (OCAC) is a collaborative partnership with Ocean County College, Ocean County PIC, Inc., Georgian Court University, and Goodwill’s Helms Academy. OCAC is hosted on OCC’s campus and provides free services to out-of-school young adults and adults that address academic, career, and financial goals. Various community partners engage young adults and adults in educational programs, integrated education training, career exploration, work readiness training, internships, on-the-job learning, leadership development, job placement, adult mentoring, and work experience opportunities.

The Work Readiness Assistance Program (WRAP) is for out-of-school young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 living in Ocean County. WRAP provides free services to address academic, career, and financial goals. Services are also provided by various community partners to engage young adults and adults in educational programs, career exploration, work readiness training, internships, on-the-job learning, leadership development, job placement, adult mentoring, and work experience opportunities. The WRAP grant has built-in support services to also assist young adults struggling with transportation, mental health, food insecurities, and more.

Ocean County PIC, Inc.

Ocean County PIC, Inc. is a 501c (3) private non-profit organization, providing comprehensive career services to job seeker and employer customers at the Ocean County Career Center. Through the Ocean County Workforce Development Board (WDB) under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Ocean County PIC, Inc. works collaboratively with job seekers, businesses, and community partners to connect skilled job seekers with businesses in the Central Jersey Region for over 40 years.

Ocean County Workforce Development Board (OCWDB)

The Local Workforce Development Board (LWDB) is the entity responsible for overseeing that the American Job Center (AJC) meets all requirements and is operating effectively. LWDBs are responsible for ensuring the quality implementation of services at the AJC. They lead processes that facilitate the flow of information, particularly procurement and monitoring processes, that help to link the strategy and priorities set by the LWDB to the operations in the LWDB’s One Stop Career Centers.

RISE Program – (Readiness in Skills & Education for Adults and Youth) offers education and career services to vulnerable populations, including those receiving public assistance, the unemployed or underemployed, and out-of-school youth. The program aims to bridge skill gaps and support entry into the workforce or training programs. It includes High School Equivalency, ESL, basic skills remediation, digital literacy, work readiness, credential opportunities, and volunteer/community work experience. The WorkFirst NJ (WFNJ) – Gateway to Success Program provides comprehensive services to those receiving public assistance, helping them achieve self-sufficiency. The program includes digital literacy, work readiness, soft skills, job training, entrepreneurship, credential attainment, career coaching, mentoring, and job search support, along with individualized career plans and case management.

The SEA Program – Senior Employment Assistance Program provides career services to senior populations, 55+, who have been impacted by COVID-19, with the skills necessary to rejoin the workforce. Program includes: Digital Literacy Work Readiness/Employability Skills Work/Life/Soft Skills Credential Opportunities On-the-job training/work experience Technology & Career Training Career Exploration Career Coaching & Mentoring Overcoming Barriers Interviewing Skills &  Resume Building Facilitated Workshops Cover Letter Writing Job Search/employment agency linkages Community Resources.
