What to Expect at the Fair

Job Interviews with Employers On Site

This is not a typical job fair where resumes disappear into a stack. Employers attending this event will be conducting on-site interviews the same day. For job seekers from Toms River, Brick, Lakewood, and nearby communities, that means walking in and potentially walking out with a real next step.

Bringing multiple copies of your resume is strongly recommended. Dressing professionally and arriving early will also help make the most of the opportunity.

Community Resources Under One Roof

In addition to employment opportunities, the fair brings together community organizations and agencies. Attendees can gather information on support services, disability resources, and programs available through local, county, and state providers. For families navigating these systems, having access to multiple organizations in one location saves considerable time and effort.

An Awards Ceremony Honoring Inclusive Employment

The event includes a formal awards ceremony. Individuals with disabilities, employees with disabilities, and employers who have demonstrated inclusive hiring practices will all be recognized. The ceremony adds a meaningful dimension to the day and highlights the real progress being made in disability-inclusive employment across the region.

Accessibility and Sensory-Friendly Accommodations

The organizers have built accessibility into the event from the start. A sensitivity-friendly hour will be offered, and ASL interpreters will be on site throughout the fair. Additional accommodations are available upon request. To arrange specific accommodations, email accommodations@ocean.edu no later than September 23, 2026.

For Job Seekers: Why This Fair Is Worth Your Time

Finding an employer who is genuinely open to hiring individuals with disabilities takes effort. This event removes much of that uncertainty. Every employer in the room has chosen to be there. They are actively looking to fill positions. On-site interviews mean the process moves faster than a traditional application cycle.

For anyone currently working with the Ocean County Career Center, this fair pairs well with the job search support and career counseling services already available to you. If you have not yet connected with us, our job seekers page is a good place to start. Career counselors can help you prepare your resume and get ready for the interviews taking place on October 6.

Additional disability-specific resources, including links to vocational rehabilitation programs and the New Jersey Disability Information Hub, are listed on our community resources page.

For Employers: A Free Recruitment Opportunity

The Ocean County Career Center is actively reaching out to companies with open positions to fill on or around October 6, 2026. If your organization is hiring and ready to interview candidates that day, this event offers a direct path to qualified local job seekers.

Participation is offered at no cost. On-site interview spaces are provided, and there are no registration fees.

Our job seekers are local, pre-screened, and actively pursuing immediate employment. This is a targeted recruitment setting, not a general resume drop.

To reserve your space or learn more, contact Maria at 732-286-5616. Spots are limited, so reaching out early is advisable.
